great article and the photos are just delightful - especially your little one with the pink boots :) how fun and serendipitous because yesterday I got to spend some time at our local "bog". Though here we call them the slough (pron: slew). it was such a delightful afternoon hanging out with the leopard frogs who were literally screaming at us that we were disturbing their space and watching the Red Winged Blackbirds on the cat tails. They are such a lovely place so full of life and doing so much for the environment. I hope more people get to see and hear about them and enjoy their wonders.

Anna, this is beautiful! One of the best stories of being nature I have ever read. I could feel and smell the air, sunshine and wetness of the land.
Your three little forest creatures are delightful. It is so refreshing to see children in wild nature exploring, experiencing and enjoying themselves.
The pink boots! If you are ever lost in the forest simply lie on your back with your feet in the air and the searchers will easily find you.
